The Italian A G Fronzoni (1923-2002) made a name for himself in industrial, graphic and exhibition design as well as architecture. In 1956, the self-taught artist moved his studio from Brescia to Milan and in the following years concentrated on exhibition posters. Fronzoni’s works breathe silence and poetry, they are subtle and refined at the same time. Mostly in black and white, the works are in the tradition of Minimal Art, which from 1960 represented a counter-design to the garish and colorful Pop Art. “My language is black and white. But black and white doesn’t deprive us of colors – it marks the extreme poles of a space that contains and holds them.”
