Do you need additional information or have specific questions about the visit?
The museum café on Ausstellungsstrasse offers a seasonal and regional range of fresh food and drinks. When the weather is nice, you can also enjoy it outside on the terrace directly on the banks of the pond.
In addition to posters and books, time-honored classics, unique pieces, and stylish souvenirs are also available — from the REX potato peeler to Bauhaus articles, whose design is closely related to the museum’s main building. We also carry a constantly changing selection of limited editions and products from the current exhibitions. Visit us and be inspired!
Posters, publications, and selected editions may also be ordered online.
The spacious education studio on the second floor offers a varied program for all age groups. Here, visitors can gain exciting insights into various design topics and are invited to discuss, experiment and get creative themselves. The studio provides inspiring materials to stimulate their own ideas and creative processes.
The listed building on Ausstellungsstrasse is one of the outstanding examples of Swiss modernist architecture. Since spring 2018, the building designed by Adolf Steger and Karl Egender in the 1930s has shone in new splendor following extensive renovation: the exhibition hall with its characteristic pillars has been restored to its original two-storey state. The basement houses two exhibition rooms with a selection of treasures from the internationally renowned collection.
Are you looking for a stylish location for a photo shoot or your next event? The versatile rooms in the main building on Ausstellungsstrasse can be rented.
