The studio Laurenz Brunner has been designing the visual identity of Schauspielhaus Zürich since 2019. Over the last five years, he created over 75 campaigns that visualize the themes presented in the plays in an ambiguous fashion. By visually evoking moments of irritation and coincidence, Brunner raises demands for diversity, inclusion and fluid identities. With his formal layerings, mirrorings, breaks and fusions, Laurenz Brunner questions the conventions of the poster tradition and builds a bridge to the present through pop culture references. The vestibule wall at Ausstellungsstrasse shows ten of his posters for the Schauspielhaus, supplemented by a selection of digital and printed copies of his works to browse through.
