Vera Kappeler - Piano

  • Adults and young people
Frau spielt Klavier in Schwarz-Weiss-Foto.

For many years, Vera Kappeler has devoted herself to immersing herself in folk songs from different countries. Simple starting points suit her very well – a melody, a text, a mood.

Delta blues, hymns, sprechgesang, lyric poetry, photographs and films, landscapes, the pulsations of old machines, household objects and music boxes are among her sources of inspiration. In addition, there are influences from classical music, jazz and singer-songwriters.

On earlier solo albums, Vera Kappeler explored compositions by Paul Burkhard and Thelonious Monk.

In her current program, she attempts to bring together different worlds. Sound experiments alternate with inspired, palatable and brittle tunes.
