Pop-up

The exhibition brings together 48 visual highlights from 75 years of education at the Zurich University of the Arts. Since 1944, designers have been trained here to make knowledge visible and understandable. From scientific drawing, an internationally unique field of study and research has emerged: Knowledge Visualization.
From the first graduation project in 1951 to the founding of the specialized class in 1964, the program has continuously renewed itself. The (poster) visual works open up a panorama of the evolving relationship between knowledge and design and document the transformation of visual knowledge representation across generations.
Today, the discipline makes complex relationships visible—within the dynamic tension between precision and imagination, from genetic research to the climate crisis. Knowledge Visualization connects tradition with innovation and shows how the language of images becomes a key to social relevance and sustainable understanding.
