In the context of its collection and as part of its exhibitions, the museum issues a large number of publications that focus on current research topics and design discourses as well as works by pioneers from theory and practice. They are developed in close collaboration with external experts, other institutions and renowned graphic design studios, mostly in cooperation with international publishers or self-published. Ecological aspects and considerations regarding digital and hybrid formats play a decisive role in the materialization process. They reach an international audience with high quality in terms of concept, content and design. Publications such as 100 Years of Swiss Design or 100 Years of Swiss Graphics are regarded as internationally recognized standard works in the subject area.
The museum attaches great importance to designing its own exhibition posters, which are part of its internationally renowned poster collection. For each exhibition, the museum works with new graphic designers to develop unique and creative posters. This also gives young talents the opportunity to present themselves and receive support. The exhibition posters are regularly awarded prizes and can be admired both in the museum and in public spaces. They bring a piece of design into society and enrich the cityscape.
All the museum's own publications and those of international publishing partners as well as classics of poster history and exhibition posters can be ordered in our store.
