Visitor regulations

Valid from 1 May 2025 

These house regulations serve to ensure the safety of all persons and objects, as well as a pleasant experience for all visitors. They apply at all three museum locations: Ausstellungsstrasse 60, Toni-Areal, and Pavilion Le Corbusier. They supplement the house rules of ZHdK.

  1. Instructions given by museum staff must be followed. Staff are authorised to issue situation-specific directives. 
  2. Exhibition objects must not be touched. Exceptions are clearly marked. 
  3. Smoking is prohibited throughout the building. Ashtrays are available in the outdoor areas. 
  4. Eating and drinking are not permitted in the exhibition rooms. 
  5. Bulky, wet, or sharp objects as well as large bags, luggage or backpacks may not be brought into the exhibition rooms. 
  6. Coats and jackets must be worn or deposited at the free cloakroom. 
  7. Strollers may be unsuitable depending on the exhibition and number of visitors. They can be left at the cloakroom. 
  8. The museum accepts no liability for personal belongings or valuables – even when placed in lockers or at the cloakroom. 
  9. Private photo, video and audio recordings are permitted in and around the museum, provided no flash or tripod is used. We look forward to your postings

  10. Children under the age of 12 may only visit the museum when accompanied by an adult. 
  11. Clearly marked guide and assistance dogs are permitted. No other animals are allowed. 
  12. School classes and group visits must be registered in advance via: www.museum-gestaltung.ch or vermittlung@museum-gestaltung.ch
  13. Teachers are responsible for their class throughout the entire visit. 
  14. Visiting the museum (indoors and outdoors) and participating in events is at the visitor’s own risk. 
  15. The museum declines all liability for direct, indirect or consequential damages – to the extent permitted by law. 
  16. Visitors are liable for any damage caused by their behaviour to objects, equipment, installations or parts of the building. 
  17. For security reasons, the exhibition rooms are under video surveillance. Data is processed in accordance with applicable data protection laws. 
  18. Violations of these house regulations may result in expulsion, a ban from the premises, legal prosecution, and claims for damages. In such cases, there is no entitlement to a refund of the admission fee. 
  19. These house regulations are governed by Swiss law. The UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods is excluded. 
  20. Place of jurisdiction is Zurich.
