Primary school Limmat and public: children aged 8 - 12 years
Research, experiments, measurements, drawings, plans, designs, drafts and rejections were all carried out in the space laboratory . Above all, however, they built everything from mini to maximum models.
The collaborative work resulted in a spatial installation made of wooden slats, which was on display for three weeks in the open space next to the pond in the museum's sunken garden.
In March 2024, the spatial laboratory was continued: together with Franziska Hess, a member of the education team, Christoph Goechnahts conducted a workshop program for school classes on the exhibition Tatiana Bilbao Estudio - Architecture for the Community, the results of which were presented under the title Object: exhibitión in a scenography developed by pupils. Collaborative processes were also central to these workshops.
The experiences and insights gained in the courses were collected in order to further sharpen the profile of design education at the Museum für Gestaltung Zürich. They will be incorporated into the concept and educational program for a new permanent exhibition of the collections, which will open in the Toni-Areal in 2025 to mark the 150th anniversary of the museum.
