Project documentation
The first year of the project served to establish sustainable cooperation structures under the label "Building Site". Even before the official launch of Museumjung, the Museum für Gestaltung Zürich and the Limmat School were already working together as part of the project teaching program.

In FotoScouts, pupils took the camera in their hands and explored where and how everyday design connects the museum and the school. They visited the exhibitions, explored the museum building and its departments and also took a look behind the scenes.
The photographic research extended to the school building and the shared neighborhood. Both institutions are located next door to each other in the migrant and increasingly gentrified industrial district of Kreis 5, which is characterized by a high level of cultural diversity. The students come from this catchment area.
The course focused on the personal perspectives and stories of the young photographers. The motifs they found interesting were used to create fanzines that provide the museum and school with reciprocal insights into each other's everyday lives and highlight similarities.
FotoScouts was one of several courses as part of the Museumjung project in which the students explored the neighborhood between the museum and the school. Other courses related to the neighborhood were the project lessons #9: Experiencing Spaces - Designing Spaces and #14: Public (T)Spaces, the projects Looking and Collecting: Photography is more than a photo and Collecting photographically: Designing Public Space as part of Museum Week, the Design Rally project day and Youth Collective 1 and 2.
