Project documentation
In the third year of the project, students developed elements of a new permanent exhibition of the collections under the label "DesignScouts", which will open in the Toni-Areal in 2025. The Collection Insights - Seven Perspectives exhibition serves as a kind of prototype.

For the first time, the museum is placing different perspectives on its collection at the center of an exhibition. In this context, interested children and young people between the ages of 9 and 15 developed an exhibition concept in participatory processes in the Youth Collective 1 course, which was received with great approval by the program committee: jung love Züri takes the public on a journey through the young city and makes suggestions as to how the collections can be expanded.
"We had more than fifty ideas for the exhibition. We had to be familiar with the topic, it had to have something to do with us, but also with design. In the end, it was clear that it would be an exhibition about Zurich. We brainstormed the question: What do we associate with our city? Then we looked in the collection archives to see which objects fit in with our everyday lives in Zurich. We didn't find any cool brands or current products there. That's why we're presenting them here (in the exhibition)." (Youth Collective)
The Youth Collective 2 team finalized the selection of exhibits (collection objects and suggestions for the collections) and worked on the object legends. It recorded audios with personal statements about the exhibits. The main focus of the work of Jugendkollektiv 2 was the conception and realization of a documentary film about the young view of design in urban space. The film is shown in large format in the exhibition.
The youth collective took place as part of the promotion of gifted and talented students. Pupils from the Limmat school were able to apply across all classes, stating their personal motivation. Pupils in project lesson #13: Young brands supported the selection of current products.
